Job summary

Hydromax USA is seeking a Technician Trainee in Jacksonville, FL to launch a career in water utilities. The role covers essential maintenance programs such as Valve Exercise, Fire Hydrant, and Blowoff Maintenance.

The three‑month trainee program leads to Water Technician 1 with clear growth paths. In this outdoor, safety‑driven position, you will collect GPS coordinates, operate and maintain equipment, gather inspection data, and follow strict safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Able to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Certification as required by project locations.
• Physically capable of field work, including walking over varied terrain, entering confined spaces, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds for extended periods.
• Willing to travel based on project requirements, including weekends and occasional night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collect GPS coordinates for all assigned assets.
• Safely operate, maintain, and clean all equipment.
• Gather precise data from each inspection point.
• Maintain productivity and discipline throughout the workday.
• Meet a driving score of A-90 or above per the company’s driver performance system.
• Use PPE and follow work zone safety protocols daily.
• Paint, scrape, and clean fire hydrants to meet project standards.
• Perform repairs on fire hydrants and water main valve operating nuts.
• Communicate openly with support staff and field managers daily.
