The City of Huron seeks a dependable Water & Sewer Maintenance Worker to join its Water and Sewer Department. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing water distribution and sewer collection systems and may require availability for evenings, weekends, and emergencies.
Under supervision, the worker may use independent judgment within regulations and participate in paid on-the-job training to obtain required Class I certifications. This is an on-site, physically demanding position.

Under general supervision, the Water & Sewer Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining and repairing water distribution and collection lines. Work assignments vary, and the employee may use independent judgment and decision-making within established federal and state regulations.
This position may require work during evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts.
This position involves regular physical activity, including climbing, bending, stooping, walking, kneeling, crawling, and lifting up to 75 pounds independently and greater weights with assistance. Work is frequently performed outdoors and in uncontrollable conditions, including heat, cold, dampness, exposure to chemicals, and potential exposure to infectious wastes.
The successful applicant will receive paid on-the-job training to obtain required Class I Water Distribution and Class I Sewer Collection certifications.
