Job summary

Aqua-Tots Swim School in Richardson, TX is hiring a Water Safety Instructor to teach life-saving skills to children and foster a fun, safe learning environment.

As a part-time team member, you’ll teach lessons, maintain pool safety, build relationships with families, and support ongoing growth within our expanding Aqua-Tots network. Flexible afternoons/evenings and weekends, with weekly pay, paid training, holidays off, and opportunities for advancement as you contribute to saving lives.

Qualifications

• Ability to work at least two shifts per week.
• Comfortable in the water and able to swim.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, energetic, and patient attitude.
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Teach Life-Saving Skills: Deliver engaging swim lessons using the Aqua-Tots curriculum for all ages and skill levels
• Ensure a Safe Environment: Maintain constant awareness of pool safety and follow all safety procedures
• Build Family Relationships: Connect with families and provide updates on student progress
• Educate & Communicate: Answer parent questions and explain curriculum and progression
• Maintain Pool Readiness: Check pool chemicals and keep the area clean and organized
• Support the Swim School Environment: Assist with cleaning tasks and team goals
• Track Student Progress: Complete Aqua-Cards at end of shift
• Collaborate with the Team: Attend trainings and staff meetings

What You'll Do

• Teach Life-Saving Skills: Deliver engaging swim lessons using the Aqua-Tots curriculum for all ages and skill levels

• Build Family Relationships: Connect with families and provide updates on student progress and development
• Educate & Communicate: Answer parent questions and confidently explain curriculum, progression, and next steps
• Maintain Pool Readiness: Check pool chemicals, log results, and ensure the pool area is clean, organized, and safe
• Support the Swim School Environment: Assist with cleaning tasks including pool deck, windows, and showers
• Track Student Progress: Complete Aqua-Cards accurately at the end of each shift
• Collaborate with the Team: Attend trainings, staff meetings, and support team goals under the guidance of the Lead on Duty

Preferred:

• Experience working with children (coaching, teaching, camps, babysitting, etc.)
