The State of Montana's Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) seeks a collaborative New Appropriations Program Specialist to support consistent statewide implementation of water rights. You will translate laws and policies into practical guidance and work with regional offices, legal counsel, hydrologists, and technical experts.

This role emphasizes analytical judgment, clear communication, and collaboration to improve program tools, procedures, and training.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in resource management or a natural resource field.
• Minimum of four years of experience in a resource management field.
• Preferred coursework or experience in physical sciences, engineering, hydrology, natural sciences, or computer science.

Responsabilidades

• Interpret water rights laws, administrative rules, policies, and procedures to support regional offices.
• Review technical reports and decision documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Research information, evaluate recurring issues, and suggest practical improvements.
• Develop and deliver training to help staff apply requirements with confidence.
• Improve forms, manuals, checklists, and public information materials.
