Job summary

Butler, Fairman and Seufert is seeking a full-time Engineer for its Merrillville, IN office with a focus on water resources and environmental engineering. Responsibilities include design, reviews, calculations, and coordinating construction documents for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, 4–10 years of experience, and Indiana PE registration.

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
4–10 years of relevant work experience with Indiana PE registration.
Proficiency in Word and Excel.
A solid grasp of algebra, slopes, volumes, elevations, percentages, and flow rates.
Strong verbal and written communication to present and respond to groups of managers, clients, and the public.
Experience with modeling/design software such as WaterCad, SA, ICPR, and AutoCAD Civil 3D is encouraged.

Responsibilities

Complete technical design, design reviews, shop drawings, calculations, and communications on projects including water/wastewater facilities and stormwater systems.
Collaborate with team members and work independently to develop solutions.
Mentor and train subordinates assisting with project tasks.
Coordinate with technical staff to develop construction documents under the Project Manager.
Demonstrate customer-focused interaction with clients and agencies.
Participate as a technical resource to municipalities for planning and reviews.
