Job summary

IMEG Corporation is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer in Billings, MT, to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects. You will work with engineers and consultants to provide direction, engineering solutions, and client-focused outcomes.

Responsibilities include coordinating projects, managing budgets, mentoring staff, and ensuring designs comply with standards and codes. Willingness to travel up to 20% is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• PE license is required.
• 7+ years in building design consulting; 8+ preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership in project management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, oversee and manage projects ranging in size and complexity.
• Assist executives with design scopes, fees, proposals and contract reviews.
• Create project schedules with milestones and deadlines.
• Serve as the point of contact for teams and clients.
• Create monthly billings and update billing projections and completion %.
• Ensure designs meet standards, QA/QC and client requirements.
• Coordinate scheduling across design and construction; lead progress meetings.
• Conduct site visits and provide documentation as needed.
• Respond to client concerns; manage change orders and approvals.
• Mentor, train, and lead others; build client relationships.

Water Resources Engineer | Billings, MT

IMEG is hiring a Sr. Water Resources Engineer in Billings, MT, to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects. In this role, you'll work closely with engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and client-focused outcomes-supporting civil infrastructure and/or site design, with an added focus on water resources work where applicable. You will also help manage project budgets, support training and mentoring, and collaborate across disciplines to meet project goals and client expectations.

Principal Responsibilities

• Coordinate, oversee and manage projects ranging in size and complexity
• Assist Project Executives and Client Executives with design scopes of work and fee calculations for proposal generation as well as with contract reviews
• Create project schedules including targets for milestones and deadlines
• Serve as the point of contact for teams and clients
• Create monthly billings and submit financial information to Accounting in a timely manner; Update billing projections and estimated completion percentage for all projects monthly
• Ensure design follows owner standards and requirements, IMEG standards, and code requirements; Ensure design milestone deliverables are achieved, IMEG and client quality control processes are completed, and construction technical support occurs in a timely manner
• Collaborate with design staff and coordinate scheduling of projects during all phases of design and construction; Schedule and lead progress meetings and provide meeting documentation.
• Conduct construction site visits and provide documentation as needed or requested
• Respond to and resolve client/construction concerns; Manage change orders and obtain appropriate approvals
• Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
• Build, maintain, and develop client relationships

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, required
• Professional Engineer (PE) License required
• 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
• Demonstrated leadership traits in the Project Management career path
• Adept in the technical aspects of one's discipline
• Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency in the Civil Engineering field
• Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
• Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
