Job summary

NapaSan in Napa, California is hiring a Laboratory Analyst I/II to perform water quality testing of wastewater, surface water, and recycled water. The role involves hands-on lab work, data entry in LIMS, and collaboration with the Regulatory Compliance Manager to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in chemistry or a related science (bachelor's preferred), valid CA Driver's License, and a CA WEA Grade I/II Lab Analyst certificate (or ability to obtain).

Qualifications

• Associate degree in chemistry, microbiology, or closely related physical science; bachelor’s degree desirable.
• Driver’s license and driving record required.
• CA WEA Grade I Lab Analyst certificate for Analyst I (or ability to obtain within 12 months) or CA WEA Grade II for Analyst II.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, perform, and interpret tests on wastewater and recycled water samples.
• Collect water samples in facility and field, including boat sampling.
• Set up, calibrate, operate, and maintain lab equipment.
• Prepare reagents and sterilize media.
• Enter and maintain data in LIMS.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Perform QA/QC per California accreditation standards.
• Maintain inventories and lab cleanliness.
• Assist with research and procedure updates.
• Stay current on water quality developments via journals and training.
