City of Lubbock seeks a Water Compliance Inspector to plan, coordinate and enforce local water system regulations. The role includes on-site inspections of commercial/industrial facilities to ensure backflow, cross-connection and irrigation rules are followed.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED with 3 years of relevant experience; licenses must be obtained within specified timeframes. Strong reading, writing and public interaction skills required.
Plans, coordinates and implements the enforcement of state and local laws and regulations regarding the compliance, monitoring, and prevention of contamination and pollution of the public water supply. Determines contractor compliance with local irrigation and backflow ordinances at sites under construction.
Completion of a high school diploma or GED with an additional three years experience in the operation and maintenance of water/wastewater systems and/or installation and maintenance of plumbing; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following: Valid Current Driver's License Physical Exam Required. Obtain Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester license within 6 months of employment; Obtain Class "C" Water License within 24 months of employment; Obtain Customer Service Inspector License within 12 months of employment; Obtain Texas Irrigator License within 24 months of employment.
