Job summary

Coachella Valley Water District in Palm Desert, CA, seeks an Environmental Services Administrator to oversee the Water Quality and Compliance Division within the Environmental Services Department. The role directs programs affecting water quality, regulatory compliance, and District priorities, reporting to the Director of Environmental Services.

The position emphasizes planning, budgeting, and staff supervision with strong interaction with regulators and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree as specified.
• Experience: Eight (8) years in water quality management, water resources management, or related fields, including at least five (5) years of direct managerial/supervisory experience.
• Licenses and Certifications: Valid California Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Plans, manages, and oversees the daily functions of Environmental Services programs (water resources, quality and compliance).
• Develops and manages division budget; ensures funding and budget compliance.
• Supervises staff; trains, evaluates, and implements discipline as needed.
• Negotiates contracts and administers vendor services to ensure compliance with specifications.
