Job summary

AE2S (Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, LLC) seeks experienced civil engineers for national water infrastructure projects, based in Billings, MT. You will lead planning, design, and construction administration while guiding project teams and maintaining client relationships.

The role requires 4+ years in municipal water engineering, a PE or progress toward it, and strong communication. Some remote work possible with travel across the region, and a supportive, employee-owned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • PE registration or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 4+ years in municipal civil engineering with focus on water sector.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for projects and business development.
  • Ability to work remotely and manage projects, clients, and team members.
  • Knowledge of design standards and permitting.
  • Pre-employment checks may be required by law.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional services for water engineering projects including planning, study, design, and construction administration.
  • Manage performance of project team members including Engineers and Technicians.
  • Maintain and expand client relationships and pursue new opportunities.
  • Identify, evaluate, pursue, and manage project opportunities.
  • Provide quality control and QA on all project work.
  • Maintain budgets and schedules for projects.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings.
  • Provide mentorship for team members.

Responsibilities


  • Provide professional services for water engineering projects to include planning, study, design, and construction administration on projects

  • Manage performance of assigned project team members including Project Engineers, Junior Engineers, and Technicians

  • Maintain existing client relationships and enhance pursued relationships with clients

  • Identify, evaluate, pursue, and manage project opportunities

  • Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work

  • Maintain budgets and schedules of project assignments

  • Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings

  • Provide mentorship for team members.


Basic Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months

  • 4+ years of experience in municipal civil engineering, with a strong interest in the water market sector (Drinking Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, Water Resources)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to travel as required for project/client responsibilities and business development

  • Ability to work remotely and manage projects, clients, and project team members

  • Knowledge of design standards and permitting

  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations


Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering

  • 8+ years of experience in municipal water engineering (Drinking Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, Water Resources)

  • Project management experience

  • Knowledge of project financials & funding programs


Physical Qualifications


  • Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain

  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time

  • Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist

  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight

  • May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

  • May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear

  • May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload

  • May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
