The candidate will gain licenses (Class D then C) with City support and progress toward Operator II by gaining experience and credentials. A strong math background and adherence to safety protocols are essential.

About The Position
The Water Plant Operator I is one of several water plant operator jobs within the water treatment plant for the City of Edmond. The water treatment operator helps with routine equipment/machinery adjustments, maintenance, occasionally supervising trainees. Employees must be willing and able to work shifts, holidays, and as part of a rotating on-call schedule to maintain 24/7/365 operations. Must be able to work 7:00 am to 5:00 pm with an 8 days on, 6 days off schedule.
