Job summary

NW Natural Water is seeking a Water Operator I in Coupeville, WA. You will perform operation, maintenance, and repair work for water systems and respond to service requests as needed.

Role includes installing mains, meters, valves, and performing inspections, with opportunities to lead project tasks. Requires two+ years in water utilities, valid license, and safe handling of materials. E-Verify and training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years of relevant water utility experience.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of water distribution systems.
• Valid driver's license and required certifications.
• Consent to background checks and MVR checks.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair water mains, hydrants, valves and service lines.
• Inspect, operate, and exercise gate valves to prevent seizures and flush lines.
• Locate leaks and map distribution system facilities.
• Install and replace water meters and related infrastructure.
• Perform maintenance on water and wastewater facilities and equipment.
