Job summary

The Water Infrastructure Engineering Intern at EQT Corporation will participate in a 12-week paid real-world internship program designed to develop hands-on skills in both field and office environments.

You will rotate through production operations phases, work with mentors and engineers, and contribute to projects while learning API/ASME standards and refining communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience gained through collegiate schooling.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, or petroleum engineering.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Willing to work in a fast-paced field and office environment with a multi-faceted team.
• Basic understanding of oil and gas production operations from well bore to sales point.

Responsibilities

• Engage daily with teams to align learning targets and tasks.
• Engage weekly with mentor to review progress and plan next steps.
• Complete internship milestones across production operations phases.
• Collaborate with production engineering to review API/ASME documentation.
• Plan a cross-training event for engineering and operations.
• Deliver end-of-rotation presentation highlighting skills gained.

Here is how the Water Infrastructure Engineering Intern role will impact our business:

The Water Infrastructure Engineering Intern will apply the knowledge and experience gained through their education in a challenging, fast-paced environment. This role will provide hands‑on opportunities to strengthen both business and field operations knowledge while contributing to the overall success of the engineering team.

The Water Infrastructure Engineering Intern's responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Complete daily engagements with teams and team members assigned to ensure alignment with learning targets and tasks needing to be accomplished.
• Complete weekly engagements with mentor assigned to discuss experience to date and seek guidance on the next steps to ensure a successful internship.
• Complete assigned milestones and targets of the internship program while rotating through the different phases of production operations (i.e. construction / pipeline installation / flowback / workover / ARO / production operations).
• Work with production engineering team subject matter experts to review / understand identified API / ASME documentation and standards.
• Work together as an intern team to develop and host a cross‑training event for engineering and operations to highlight the in‑depth understanding of a production operation concept gained through the rotation.
• Complete assigned end of rotation presentation that aligns with the vision of the mentor and highlights the skills and knowledge developed while with EQT.

Required Experience and Skills:

• 1+ year of experience gained through collegiate schooling
• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, petroleum engineering)
• Valid driver's license required
• Willing to work in a fast-paced field and office environment with a multi-faceted team of team members.
• Basic understanding of oil and gas production operations to include process flow from well bore to sales point.
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Extreme Ownership Mentality
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior internships in oil and gas industry with 2-years of schooling complete.
• Advanced Microsoft Office Suite experience with an interest in Data Science.

Notes:

The selected incumbent will have the intern program tailored / adjusted based on their noted abilities and experience level.

Intern will work out of the Canonsburg office at Southpointe. Pool vehicles will be leveraged as needed for traveling to and from the field.
