Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a Water Field Inspector to support water remediation projects in the field. The role assists the project manager and Field Service Supervisor and involves extensive travel to customer sites, with Bridgeport, NJ as a major location.

The position requires 95-100% travel, a willingness to work outdoors in all weather, and a strong safety mindset. Pay is $25 per hour plus overtime and per diem where applicable, with full-time benefits after 30 days.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or engineering required.
  • Be safety oriented and have a commitment to safety.
  • Willing to do manual labor.
  • Willing to work outside in all kinds of weather, utilizing prescribed PPE.
  • Valid DL and clean MVR required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure health and safety is the top priority and follow safe practices.
  • Document site activities including cost tracking, logs, and reports via laptop or mobile device.
  • Work in field with crew and Project Manager/Field Service Supervisor.
  • Travel to different project locations including wastewater treatment plants and water remediation sites.
  • Read and understand project documents and contracts.
  • Gain 40-hour Hazwoper and OSHA 10 through the company.

Job description

Clean Harbors is seeking a Water Field Inspector. The Field Inspector will focus on assisting the project manager and the supervisor of water projects out in the field. The group focuses on water remediation/filtration work at customer sites.

Location:

East Coast preferred, all other locations will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Major project coming in Bridgeport, NJ which will be the majority of time spent.

Travel 95-100% required:

While not working out of Bridgeport will need to travel as needed to support other water projects in the field.

Pay:

$25 an HR, OT and per diem available.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Accurately and completely document site activities including cost tracking, worksheets, waste shipping logs, manifest management, health and safety, documentation of meetings and conference calls and other paperwork via laptop or mobile device;
  • Work in field with hands on labor alongside crew and Project Manager/Field Service Supervisor;
  • Travel to different project locations including Wastewater Treatment plants, water remediation locations, and more;
  • Reading and understanding of project documents and contracts;
  • Will gain 40-hour Hazwoper, OSHA 10 and possibly more certifications through the company;
  • Learn to calibrate air monitoring meters and associated Health & Safety equipment;
  • Work on project financial tracking and assist in various project administrative functions, including generation of required reports, etc.;
  • Ordering and receiving supplies for projects;
  • Possibly operate some heavy equipment;
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or engineering required;
  • Be safety orientated and have a commitment to safety;
  • Willing to do manual labor;
  • Willing to work outside in all kinds of weather, utilizing prescribed Personal Protective Equipment;
  • Valid DL and clean MVR required;
  • Should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and professional level written / oral communication skills. Civil Engineering / construction / survey experience a plus.
