Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Tampa is seeking an motivated Civil Engineering intern to design solutions, inspect sites, and join client meetings, contributing from day one to project outcomes.

We value creative thinking, communication, and teamwork. This hybrid role requires 10–20 hours weekly, with regular office presence in downtown Tampa and growth through mentorship and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Progress towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field
• Demonstrated interest in your chosen field through internships, volunteering, or memberships
• Creative thinking with a methodical and pragmatic approach to problem solving
• Proficient communication and presentation skills to engage with clients and colleagues
• Resilient, solution-oriented mindset with focus on growth and delivering value
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborative spirit and commitment to teamwork
• Based in the Tampa Bay area and able to work from the downtown Tampa office regularly (at least once per week) with flexibility
• Available to work approximately 10-20 hours per week during the academic term

To be considered for this 2026 opportunity, here’s what you’ll need:

• Progress towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field
• Demonstrated interest in your chosen field through previous internships, volunteering opportunities, or organization memberships
• Creative thinking skills, with a methodical and pragmatic approach to problem solving
• Proficient communication and presentation skills to engage confidently with clients and colleagues
• Resilient, solution-oriented mindset, with a focus on continuous growth and delivering value
• Ability to build and maintain relationships and rapport with internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborative spirit and commitment to teamwork
• Based in the Tampa Bay area and able to work from our downtown Tampa office regularly (typically at least once per week), with flexibility as needed.
• Available to work approximately 10-20 hours per week during the academic term.

This position is located in Tampa, FL. You must be able to reliably commute to our office in this location, per our hybrid working policy.
