Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our Syracuse, NY team to plan, design, and manage water/wastewater projects in collaboration with experienced professionals and clients.

You will conduct field visits, collect data, assess assets, and support construction activities with drawings, RFIs and permit closeouts, applying engineering judgment for reliable, sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and work ethic.

Responsibilities

We are searching for Water Engineers to support and grow our team in Syracuse, NY. Collaborating with our experienced Water Professionals, you will support and drive the development of projects, interact and work with clients, and develop your technical capabilities. Arcadis provides multiple onboarding and development programs created for our young professionals that support professional growth and help drive creativeness, innovation, and greater integration within our local, national and global teams.

Role accountabilities:

As a Water Resources Engineer your role will involve a wide range of responsibilities related to the evaluation, planning, design, and support management of projects for water/wastewater treatment and conveyance. This includes pipelines, treatment facilities, and pumping facilities. Your expertise will be crucial in exercising judgment on the intricate details of work and making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. Additionally, you will actively engage in fieldwork activities such as conducting site visits, performing construction inspections, collecting samples, analyzing water quality, conducting asset inventory, setting up and monitoring flow monitoring systems, evaluations technologies, and gathering information on plant operations. You will also play a vital role in supporting professional engineering services during the construction phase which includes activities such as construction observation, reviewing shop drawings, responding to request information (RFI’s), and ensuring permit closeouts. Your contributions will be essential in ensuring the successful execution of water resources projects and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the entire process.

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, you will also be responsible for:

  • Coordination with manufacturer’s representatives and contractors.
  • Support Asset Management projects performing data analytics, operational and organizational assessments, condition assessments and overall performance evaluations of water/wastewater/stormwater facilities.
  • Preparation of reports, presentations, cost estimates, and participation in client meetings.
Qualifications & Experience:

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $62,353 - $81,972 / per year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
