Job summary

Town of Marana is seeking a Water Operator I to join the Water Department. The role focuses on operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of the public water distribution system in a team-oriented environment.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED with six months of related education or training and at least six months of experience in water systems; ADEQ Grade 1 Certification within 12 months of hire is required or training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus six months of education or training.
• Six months of experience in the operation and maintenance of water distribution systems or a closely related field.
• Must obtain ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution System Operator Certification within 12 months of hire. Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service, and repair water distribution components including mains, ARV/PRV, hydrants, valves and meters.
• Review maps and plans; perform blue stakes and assist in distribution component installations.
• Respond to emergencies and customer service needs such as meter reads and water audits.
