Patterson Professional Services, an Inframark company, seeks a Water Distribution Crew Chief (CDL) in Collinsville, TX to lead field work that keeps water systems running safely. This hands-on leadership role oversees a crew performing repairs, operates excavators, and coordinates daily assignments.

You'll manage water shutdowns, safety, and emergency responses while supporting heavy equipment operation and adherence to underground utility safety.

Qualifications

• CDL A license required.
• Experience operating excavators and heavy construction equipment.
• Experience excavating around underground utilities preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew performing water distribution system repairs and maintenance.
• Repair water mains, service lines, valves, hydrants, meters.
• Operate excavators, backhoes, skid steers, loaders.
• Safely excavate around underground utilities.
• Coordinate water shutdowns, repairs, backfilling, restoration.
• Plan daily crew assignments, equipment, materials.
• Maintain safe work zones and ensure safety and efficiency.
• Respond to emergency water leaks and main breaks.

Water Distribution Crew Chief – CDL

Location: Collinsville, TX
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour depending on experience

Join Patterson Professional Services, an Inframark company, as a Water Distribution Crew Chief and lead the field work that keeps water systems operating safely and reliably. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll work alongside your crew to repair water infrastructure, operate heavy equipment, and complete excavation and repair projects safely and efficiently.

If you have experience operating heavy equipment, working around underground utilities, and are ready to take the lead in the field, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and work alongside a crew performing water distribution system repairs, leak repairs, excavation, and maintenance
• Repair water mains, service lines, valves, hydrants, meters, and other water distribution components
• Operate excavators, backhoes, skid steers, loaders, and other heavy equipment
• Safely perform excavation around existing underground utilities
• Coordinate water shutdowns, repairs, backfilling, cleanup, and restoration of service
• Plan and coordinate daily crew assignments, equipment, materials, and tools
• Maintain safe work zones and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
• Respond to emergency water leaks, main breaks, and other distribution system emergencies as needed

What You’ll Bring

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License; CDL A required
• Experience operating excavators and other heavy construction equipment required
• Experience safely excavating around existing underground utilities required
• Class D Water License is preferred
• Water distribution construction, maintenance, or repair experience strongly preferred
• Previous crew lead, foreman, or supervisory experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to work on‑call once a month

What the Work Is Like

This is an active, outdoor field position that involves working around excavations, trenches, heavy equipment, traffic, and underground utilities. Employees must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds, perform physically demanding work, and work on uneven terrain in changing weather conditions.

This role may require after‑hours, weekend, holiday, or on‑call emergency response. Occasional out‑of‑town travel and overnight stays may also be required.
