Job summary

Woolpert seeks a Design Engineer in Training to join the Water Team in Houston, TX. You will assist with design delivery, prepare plans and reports, and support project management across water resources and site civil design.

Qualified candidates have an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree and an EIT with FE passed; 4–6 years experience preferred. PE licensure within two years is encouraged. Houston office offers strong career growth and diverse projects.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
• EIT with FE Certification passed.
• 4–6 years of experience; 6–8 years preferred.
• Experience with Civil 3D is required.
• Willingness to obtain PE license within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design work under PE supervision on stormwater, water distribution, sanitary systems and site development.
• Prepare reports, conduct field work, and support project management tasks (schedules, scopes, budgets).
• Read and interpret plans, perform design calculations, and ensure quality control.
• Attend client meetings, present work, and document meeting minutes.
