Job summary

HDR is seeking a seasoned Data Steward within the Water Business Group to define data standards, governance, and reuse across projects. This embedded role emphasizes collaboration, change management, and data fluency to support AI use cases and reliable data models.

Based in the United States, you will coordinate with leaders across the Water BG, build consensus on data definitions, and train staff on the HDR data glossary to ensure consistent delivery and trusted information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• At least 10 years in the Water engineering industry?
• Experience leading diverse teams and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to work with senior leaders and operations/marketing managers.
• Active participation in HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Establish and coordinate a network of SME expertise across the Water Business Group to define technical standards, aligned to Water data practices and enterprise expectations.
• Develop and maintain data definitions for engineering terms supporting data models, reporting, automation, and AI use cases.
• Use your network to align data processes, priority, and expected use with stakeholders.
• Promote responsible use of technical data, including access, data quality, formatting, and reuse.
• Govern externally sourced datasets (access, approvals, inventory, storage, lifecycle).
• Promote data fluency across the Water Business Group and coordinate with the Technology Director.
