Alabama Power Company, part of Southern Company, is seeking an Environmental Specialist / Engineer (Environmental Compliance – Water) to support environmental compliance and project management for Power Delivery initiatives in Birmingham, AL. You'll coordinate environmental investigations, manage permits with the U.S.

Army Corps of Engineers, and work with CRE and project teams to integrate requirements into schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Engineering, Environmental Science, Natural Resources or related area preferred.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate, facilitate, oversee, and interpret natural resource investigations (wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species surveys, cultural resource surveys).
• Manage and support environmental permitting activities (Section 404/Section 10 permits).
• Partner with CRE and other stakeholders for due diligence on property acquisitions and site selection for projects.
• Coordinate with teams, consultants, agencies, and stakeholders to identify environmental requirements in schedules and plans.
• Identify environmental risks and develop mitigation to maintain project schedules.
