Job summary

British Swim School Miami–Pembroke Pines is hiring aquatic instructors to teach our water survival and swim programs. You will work under the Aquatics Manager or owner, following our standards and keeping certifications current while delivering engaging lessons in a water-centric setting.

The role offers a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities for growth in a fast-growing, culture-driven franchise.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; enthusiastic personality.
• Current CPR certification; water/aquatic fitness cert preferred.
• Must maintain active British Swim School Aquatics certifications throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Reports directly to the Aquatics Manager or Business Owner(s).
• Instructs according to British Swim School standards and maintains certifications.
• Works a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Works in a water environment for the duration of the shift.
• Develops workouts adaptable to various fitness levels and time constraints.

The Position:

At British Swim School Miami–Pembroke Pines, we teach fun swim lessons, but that’s not all! We also offer programs centered around Aquatic Fitness and Water Aerobics called Aqua Active.

Your Typical Responsibilities:

• Reports directly to and supports the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s).
• Instructs in accordance with British Swim School training and program standards, maintaining certifications throughout employment.
• Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings (3pm-7pm), weekends (8am- 1pm), and holidays as required by business needs.
• Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and be in the water for the duration of the shift.
• Regularly develop workouts that can adapt to various fitness abilities, time frames, and energy levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion.
• Enthusiastic personality.
• Comfortable in and around the water.
• Must have a current Certification in either Water Aerobics, Aquatic Fitness, or Group Exercise with a Water Aerobic addition.
• CPR Certification
• Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment.
• Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with adults as well as children.
• Swimming experience: 1-2 years preferred but not required.
• Lifeguarding/First Aid/AED Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training)
• Prior Teaching Experience: 1 year preferred
