Job summary

Wolfspeed, Inc. in Durham, NC seeks a technician to operate the Fluoride Reduction Process and associated water treatment equipment in a fast-paced factory setting.

Responsibilities include neutralizing fluorides, handling mixed acids, calibrating pH and conductivity sensors, performing maintenance, and contributing to waste recovery using multimedia and RO systems to meet sustainability goals while adhering to safety rules and plant procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge or experience with water systems, wastewater, manufacturing, or mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge or experience in plumbing, pump repair, plant operations, or maintenance.
• Perform calibrations and validations of sensors including pH and conductivity meters.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work in a noisy, dusty, industrial/manufacturing environment, and exposed to fumes, gases, chemicals, or grease and oil.
• Must possess a valid US driver’s license and ability to operate motor vehicles.
• Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding at heights, work in confined spaces, and work in non-climate-controlled environments.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs., frequently lift up to 40 lbs., consistently lift up 25 lbs., and perform repetitive motions.
• Exposure to bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, sitting, climbing, stretching, or similar activities.
• Work requires long periods of standing or walking on hard concrete surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Fluoride Reduction Process and neutralize fluorides.
• Work on ultra-pure water generation equipment including pretreatment, RO, and UV sanitization.
• Recover and recycle process waste using multimedia and carbon filters along with RO systems to meet sustainability goals.
