Job summary

The Town of Prosper, Texas, is hiring a Utility Worker to operate, maintain, and repair water distribution and wastewater collection systems to ensure safe, reliable service. The role involves heavy equipment operation, on-call responsiveness, and coordination with other utility staff.

Salary range $40,651.38–$46,749.09 with TMRS retirement, medical, dental, and vision benefits. Tuition reimbursement, wellness programs, flexible scheduling, and ongoing training are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Possession of a valid Class CDL license and/or obtain within six (1) year of employment.
• Possession of a Class I Wastewater Collection license and/or obtain license within one (1) year.
• Possession of a Class D Water Distribution license and/or obtain license within one (1) year.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains wells, storage tanks, pump stations, and related equipment.
• Repairs pipes, pumps, valves, and manholes; conducts inspections.
• Ensures compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Troubleshoots system issues and responds to emergencies and on-call assignments.
