The City of Topeka’s Utilities department is seeking a licensed professional engineer to serve as its Wastewater Utility Engineer. This role leads major wastewater projects, coordinates with consultants and stakeholders, and administers contracts while ensuring compliance with design and construction standards.

Required is a Kansas PE license (or license from another state with Kansas license within six months), a civil engineering degree, and at least two years of wastewater experience.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
• PE license in the State of Kansas is required; if licensed elsewhere, Kansas license must be obtained within six months of hire.
• Two years of engineering experience in wastewater collection and/or treatment preferred.
• Valid Class C Kansas driver’s license and insurability per city guidelines.

Mansioni

• Serve as project lead on wastewater projects, coordinating consultants/contractors and preparing project schedules.
• Review construction plans submitted by private sector design professionals.
• Direct, coordinate and review consulting firm work on feasibility studies and reports.
• Prepare preliminary and final plans for a variety of wastewater projects.
• Attend public hearings and deliver presentations as needed.
