Job summary

City of Zephyrhills is hiring Utilities Service Worker I, II or III (Wastewater) at the City Wastewater Facility. Multiple openings with varying certifications and experience levels ensure coverage of essential wastewater operations.

Positions require a high school diploma or GED, Florida Class C Wastewater Certification (or within 18 months), and a valid Florida driver license. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance and Florida Retirement System; shifts may include overtime and

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Florida Class C Wastewater Collections Technician certification or within 18 months of employment.
USW II requires Class C or higher and 1 year experience; USW III requires Class C+, FDEP Class 3 Distribution license and 3 years experience.
Knowledge of Work Zone Safety.
Possession of a valid Florida driver license or ability to obtain one within 6 months.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment (backhoe, trencher, front loader, boring machine) for maintenance tasks.
Inspect lift stations and related equipment; repair wastewater and possibly water systems.
Perform general maintenance and respond to emergencies; work overtime, nights, weekends, holidays as required.
