Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks a Wastewater Treatment Technician to treat bulk hazardous and non-hazardous wastewater in line with ESOL policies. The role requires precise record keeping and the ability to follow instructions with proper training.

The position involves operating and maintaining filtration systems, tanks and pumps, attaching hoses to tanker trucks, loading and unloading materials, and performing routine housekeeping and minor repairs as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years working with wastewater treatment preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Environmental Sciences preferred.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste and wastewater treatment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process and treat hazardous and non-hazardous wastewater using various reagents.
• Attach hoses to tanker trucks.
• Load and unload materials from tanker trucks.
• Conduct tanker washouts as needed.
• Run filtration systems – filter press, drum vacuum press, and pumps.
• Daily recordkeeping and maintenance of logs and data.
• Track information in the WNS program.
• Perform housekeeping and daily inspections of tanks and tankers.
• Manage equipment and perform minor pump maintenance/repair as needed.
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
