Job summary

The City of Boulder is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator to operate the Boulder Water Resource Recovery Facility under supervision. The role covers liquid, solids, and biogas processes, with focus on safe, compliant operation and routine maintenance. Training and advancement across D–A levels are possible based on experience.

Experience with SCADA and CMMS tools, plus knowledge of SOPs and regulatory requirements, will support daily duties and long-term asset management. 40-hour work weeks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; certification at D/C/B/A as required.
• Ability to operate WRRF equipment per regulations and SOPs.
• Willingness to learn and work across multiple operator levels.

Responsibilities

• Operate WRRF and Boulder Lift Station under regulations and SOPs.
• Monitor SCADA data, perform sampling, and maintain logs.
• Assist with maintenance, safety procedures, and incident response.
• Document steps to resolve issues and support asset management.
