Job summary

City of Orlando seeks a Wastewater Plant Operator on a shift to operate and supervise the Water Conserv I facility. You will collect samples, run tests, inspect equipment, and maintain records while training junior staff.

Requirements include 5 years of plant experience, valid Florida driver’s license, and a Florida Wastewater Operator Certificate (A or B with A within 1 year). A GOAA security badge is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of wastewater plant operation experience.
• Valid Florida Driver's License required and ability to obtain/maintain certification.
• Florida Wastewater Operator Certificate (A preferred; B with A within 1 year) required.
• GOAA security badge required to access Water Conserv I facility.
• Must pass wastewater aptitude test and respirator fit test; no facial hair blocking seal.

Responsibilities

• Operate and supervise wastewater treatment plant on assigned shift.
• Collect samples, run laboratory tests, inspect and adjust equipment.
• Maintain plant records and perform administrative duties as needed.
• Train lower-classification operators and cover Chief's duties when absent.
