Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is seeking a Wastewater Treatment/Environmental Technician for its Albany, OR facility. The role involves operating wastewater systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting environmental programs to protect the environment.

The position requires basic qualifications, the ability to work on a swing shift with a differential, and the capacity to handle hazardous materials and heavy loads.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in an industrial waste treatment plant, chemical handling, or maintenance preferred.
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Willingness to undergo a pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate neutralization wastewater treatment system with clarifier, flocculant tank, and filter press.
• Perform daily system inspections and routine calibrations.
• Identify safety/process/quality problems and assist with corrective actions.
• Support internal and external customers on effluent management, hazardous waste, and spill response.
• Ensure compliance with hazardous waste regulations.
• Routinely oversee loading/unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Transport materials via forklift and manage waste inspections/shipments.

Wastewater Treatment - Aerospace Parts Manufacturing

Primary Purpose:
The Wastewater Treatment/Environmental Technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of duties related to environmental surveillance to the Pacific Cast Technologies (PCT) facility, and surrounding areas. Incumbents will participate in preventive action to protect the environment and ensure compliance to specified environmental programs including wastewater, hazardous waste, and spill team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate neutralization wastewater treatment system with clarifier, flocculanttank, and filterpress.
• Perform daily system inspections and routine calibrations.
• Recognize safety/process/quality problems and assist with diagnosis and corrective actions.
• Provide both internal and external customer support in support of operating departments related to effluent management and discharge, hazardous waste, and spill response.
• Ensure compliance with hazardous and other waste regulations.
• Routinely oversees the safe loading and unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials via forklift.
• Routinely performs hazardous waste inspections and shipments, and ensure compliance to hazardous waste regulations.
• Routinely performs equipment take down and maintenance for, along with jetting and other services.
• Occasionally services bag houses, loads wood waste boxes, services scrap and other recyclables, and other environmental duties.
• Maintaining dumpsters across the site and scheduling dumpster pick ups when full.
• Perform storm water inspections, opacity readings, and spill clean up.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Work around hazardous chemicals and have a clear understanding of chemical aspects and impact.
• Assist in response and clean-up of hazardous material spills or incidents.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team member using critical thinking skills to troubleshoot equipment upsets and take corrective action.
• Plan, organize, and control multiple activities simultaneously with the ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances and environments.
• Apply regulations with training, and/or written technical information.
• Interact effectively with employees and agency representatives.
• Perform the job safely adhering to all safety training.
• Good reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
• Work outside daily in varying weather conditions.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Operate a forklift.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• 1 year'sexperience in an industrial waste treatment plant, chemical handling, or maintenance department (preferred).
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background check.
• A combination of education, and/or job experience applying and evaluating environmental compliance with technical written information or procedures.

Schedule and Premium:

• Weekday Swing Shift (Mon-Thurs 4X10) - $1.00/hour shift differential
