Lehi City is seeking a Wastewater System Operator 1/2/3/4 to perform skilled duties on the city's wastewater collection system. The role may require operating machinery to maintain and repair lines and support installations.

Position offers full-time hours, with a schedule of 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday-Thursday, plus potential on-call rotations and weekends. CDL and State Wastewater Certification Grade 1 progress within 12 months are required.

Qualifications

• Must graduate high school or equivalent.
• Must obtain State Wastewater Certification Grade 1 within 12 months of hire.
• Must have Utah CDL license or obtain within 6 months.

PAY RANGE: $21.35 - $37.21 (depending on qualifications) with starting wage not typically above the mid-point of the range.

JOB SUMMARY

Performs a variety of skilled duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of city wastewater collection system main lines. May operate machinery to clean water systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduation from high school.


• Previous experience with underground water systems, equipment placement, residential service locations, easements and right-of-way specifications is preferred.


• Must have Utah CDL license or obtain it within 6 months.


• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.


• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.


• Skilled in operating various types of tools and power equipment to perform essential functions.


• Ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisor, subordinates and the public.


• Will be required to pass a drug test and back ground check.


• Position level depends on experience and State Wastewater Collection Certification.


• Must obtain State Wastewater Certification Grade 1 within 12 months.
