AE2S is seeking a motivated Wastewater Project Engineer to join our Maple Grove, MN or Woodbury, MN team. You will work with experienced engineers on municipal water and wastewater projects, including design, analysis, and project delivery for new developments and upgrades.

You will contribute to client relationships, participate in business development, and collaborate within multi-discipline projects to ensure quality, on-time results in a collaborative, award-winning culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field is required.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer is ideal or able to obtain within 3 months.
• 6+ years of experience in municipal civil engineering with a strong interest in the wastewater market sector.
• Ability to travel as required for business development and project/client responsibilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Maintain stellar reputation for integrity, fairness, reliability, good judgment and aptitude among peers, management, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional services for wastewater engineering projects to include design, plans, specifications, reports, project budgets, scope of work, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, and coordination of sub-consultants and contractors.
• Provide professional services for the design and construction of wastewater collection systems, and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Work within multi-discipline projects that include civil, electrical, and architectural aspects.
• Identify, evaluate, pursue, and manage project opportunities.
• Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work.
• Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and other project team members.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering
• Design work and knowledge with wastewater treatment and collection systems, utility planning, and other municipal vertical and horizontal infrastructure
• Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

Physical

• Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
• Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
• Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
• May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
• Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
• May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
• May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
• May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
