Job summary

The Stover Group has an opening for an Operations Specialist in Cleveland, TN. This full-time, in-person role operates and maintains wastewater facilities on a 12-hour night shift, with guaranteed overtime and a unique 182-workday year.

Pay ranges from $18 to $20 per hour, with benefits including 401(k), medical, dental, life insurance, and PTO. Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED and be physically able to lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• Mechanical knowledge of equipment and tools, their use and maintenance.
• Knowledge of H2S Safety and basic math.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions with good judgement.

Responsibilities

• Use common hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, grease guns, and pipe wrenches.
• Inspect equipment and monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to prevent downtime.
• Maintain clean work areas and equipment.
• Perform routine tests and assist with facility maintenance.
• Perform general housekeeping and cleaning of facilities.

Job Description:

Operations Specialist performs daily tasks to operate and maintain wastewater facilities and processes.

Responsibilities:

• Use common hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, grease guns, and pipe wrenches
• Inspect equipment and monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to prevent equipment downtime or process upsets
• Maintain clean work area(s), hand and power tools, equipment, and facilities
• Perform routine minimum control tests
• Assist with facility maintenance
• Perform general housekeeping and cleaning of all related facilities
• Maintain working relationship with all employees
• Communicate all pertinent data and information relative to daily operations in operator logbooks and at shift change
• Perform other duties as required
• Perform required tasks in a timely manner

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or six months related experience and/or a combination of education and experience

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Mechanical knowledge of equipment and tools including their use, service requirements, repair procedures, and maintenance
• Knowledge of H2S Safety
• Knowledge of basic math and applications
• Ability to exercise good judgement and apply common sense to carry out written and oral instructions
• Attention to detail
• Basic communication skills
• Ability to assist and support others
• Ability to operate basic office equipment (computers, copiers, printers, etc.)
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb stairs
