As a Wastewater Operator II, based in Vancouver, WA, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services uninterrupted. You will perform a variety of tasks related to the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant.

You will contribute to the success of the program through effective preventive maintenance, establishing and maintaining sampling procedures for plant operations and effluent, and providing solutions to complex operational challenges. Responsibilities include diagnosing operating issues, making process control adjustments, and performing or directing necessary corrective actions.

Additionally, you will assist in preparation of reports, collect samples, conduct laboratory testing to determine appropriate chemical dosing, maintain shift logs, and perform all assigned and related duties as required. Overtime to accomplish work may be required or mandatory. Shift scheduling is determined by need, and shift changes may be required to facilitate coverage.

Most importantly, you will take action to ensure the safety, health, and well‑being of yourself and others on the team.

Qualifications
  • State of Washington Level III Wastewater Operator License desired or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Four years of experience in operating water/wastewater treatment plants.
  • Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and entering data into a maintenance management system.
  • Proficient in operating plant SCADA systems and software.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • State of Washington Level 3 Wastewater Operator License.
  • Minimum of six years of experience operating water/wastewater treatment plants.
  • Knowledge of operation principles, methods, and tools for engines, pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment; general maintenance work; safe work practices; principles and methods of biological and chemical sewage analyses; effects and problems of industrial waste in water/wastewater treatment processes; principles of supervision.
  • Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data management systems, and ability to operate plant PLCs and SCADA systems.
