Job summary

City of Moline is seeking a Facility Support member to assist with the operation, maintenance, and daily upkeep of wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, and collection systems. You will support skilled staff with mechanical, plumbing, and electrical repairs, and perform general labor tasks to help keep plants safe and efficient.

The role demands physical work outdoors, ability to follow safety procedures, and collaboration with supervisors, contractors, and the public.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of general manual labor or grounds maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience operating maintenance equipment, trucks, or related tools preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Support operation and maintenance of wastewater facilities, lift stations, and collection systems.
• Perform facilities and grounds maintenance including mowing, washing, painting, cleaning, snow and ice removal.
• Clean tanks, channels, and equipment to maintain safe operations.
• Assist skilled maintenance with mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
• Operate trucks, loaders, and other equipment for hauling materials and snow removal.
• Collect wastewater samples and maintain routine records.
• Inspect work areas for safety concerns and report issues.
