Job summary

SewerAI is seeking a Wastewater Civil Engineer to translate municipal sewer engineering practice into product capabilities for condition assessment, risk prioritization, rehabilitation planning, and capital planning. You will work across product, engineering, and client teams to build scalable workflows for cities, utilities, and public agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years in wastewater collection systems or sewer rehabilitation.
• Experience delivering projects for cities/utilities.
• Experience producing client-facing engineering deliverables (reports, CIP plans, inspection plans).
• Experience reviewing CCTV data, sewer defect observations, or field results.
• Knowledge of wastewater operations and rehabilitation methods.
• Ability to translate engineering needs into product requirements.
• Strong coordination with field crews and client stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Excel and common engineering tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME on how civil engineering firms deliver wastewater services to cities and utilities.
• Translate consulting workflows into product requirements, user stories, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer teams to build municipal planning tools.
• Define scope, deliverables, budgets, and client communication constraints.
• Evaluate assets using CCTV data, GIS, and maintenance history to identify needs.
