Job summary

The Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts are seeking a Wastewater Treatment Electrician (Electrical and Instrumentation Technician) for the A.K. Warren Water Resource Facility in Carson.

This journey-level role involves installing, maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical and instrumentation systems to support a large wastewater treatment operation. Candidates should have four years of progressively responsible experience or an equivalent combination of

Qualifications

• Four years of experience performing progressively responsible installation, maintenance and repair work on instrumentation, computer process control and electrical equipment and systems.
• Substitution options include college coursework or a two-year degree in instrumentation, electronics, or electrical technology.
• Ability to read, interpret and prepare schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches and equipment specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic/mechanical control equipment and systems.
• Operate, maintain and repair pneumatic and electronic testing instruments and related data records.
• Order parts, supplies and equipment, and instruct lower level apprentices in trade techniques.
• Drive to and inspect new construction sites and maintain the shop area.
