Gana-A'Yoo, Limited (GYL) is seeking a Waste Stream Coordinator for the Port Hueneme, CA area during the February–April season. The role involves loading/unloading waste streams, tracking container movements, operating forklifts and tools, and supporting the Operations Division with safety and documentation.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to deploy to Port Hueneme. US citizenship or permanent residency is required.

POSITION: Waste Stream Coordinator

SEASON: February - April

LOCATION: Port Hueneme, California

SECTOR/DEPT: Six Mile, LLC

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for loading and unloading various streams of waste for shipment to waste vendors into long-haul trucks, flatbeds, and roll-off containers
• Responsible for tracking movement of USAP shipping containers from staging yard
• Assists with auction duties if applicable
• Performs operation of warehouse forklift, power tools, hand tools, and company vehicles
• Performs truck weigh station duties as applicable
• Performs light administrative tasking such as timecards and expense reports
• Position requires constant physical activity, including bending, consistently lifting and carrying 50 - 70 lbs, reaching and gripping
• Agrees with and adheres to the Standard Operating Procedures and tasking responsibilities of the Waste department
• Able to work in a team unit composed of diverse personalities
• Displays self-motivation in physically challenging and atypical work environment; position is comprised of approximately 90% outdoor tasking
• Able to maintain flexibility and positive attitude in a dynamic, fast-paced work setting
• Performs duties in support of Operations Division metrics (as provided by supervisor)
• Supports the achievement of ASC metrics, whether metrics are directly or indirectly, effected by this position's work activities
• Complies with all ASC Environmental Health & Safety, and Quality Assurance, requirements and goals. Provides documentation to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation
• Works to achieve ASC goals and contractual commitments
• Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace

Perform Other Duties As Required

Reports to Solid Waste Manager

Requirements

• Previous Antarctic deployment
• Equipment operating experience
• Familiarity with power tools and machinery
• Able to stand for up to 8 hours daily
• Must be able to lift the safety regulation maximum and perform functions requiring repetitive motion required
• Able to deploy to Port Hueneme, CA for length of contract

A prerequisite of employment for this position is to successfully gain a favorable Elevated Background Investigation (EBI) result prior to deployment. Candidates hired for this position will be required to complete; online forms, written forms, fingerprint cards and provide additional details and information as requested by National Science Foundation (NSF) Personnel Security office.

Preferred

• Previous USAP Waste Management experience
