Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a Waste Material Handler in Illinois to collect, transport, process, and organize waste and recyclable materials across assigned sites. You will use site equipment like balers and pallet jacks, and participate in safe, efficient material handling operations.

This role supports a busy facility environment, with emphasis on safety, teamwork, and compliance with ABM and client procedures. Veterans and candidates with military experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in waste handling, recycling, warehouse support, janitorial support, or general labor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally at all times with clients, teammates, and other contractors.
• Operate in assigned areas and perform daily waste and material handling duties based on client and site needs.
• Safely collect, transport, load, unload, sort, and stage waste and recyclable materials.
• Assist with processing materials through site equipment, including balers, when trained and authorized.
• Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by ABM and the Client.
• Walk, stand, climb, bend, and kneel during the shift.
• Lift, carry, push, pull, and transport 10+ pounds for 75% of the shift.
