Job summary

Republic Services in Ohio is seeking a Gate Attendant/Scale Operator to monitor waste volumes entering the site and ensure accurate billing. You will collect payments, issue receipts, and log entries using truck scales and company software.

Responsibilities include approving or refusing loads based on content, directing special loads, maintaining clean work areas, answering calls, and supporting daily financial reconciliation. Prior cash handling and computer experience is required.

Qualifications

• Experience handling cash and balancing cash/receipts.
• Experience with computers and various software programs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record waste volumes entering the site and collect appropriate usage fees.
• Accept or reject waste loads based on content and advise on alternatives.
• Receive payments and provide receipts to customers.
• Balance daily receipts and deposit funds.
• Document waste using scales and computer systems and track total waste.
• Notify operations of special loads and process required paperwork.
• Answer phone calls and provide information to callers.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
