Job summary

The City of Florence is seeking a Sanitation Heavy Equipment Operator to drive and operate trucks on assigned routes, collecting solid waste, recyclables, and yard debris in Florence, SC. You will work with a small crew and perform basic truck-related tasks.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and one year of heavy equipment operation experience, plus a valid South Carolina Class B CDL. CDL must be current and may include groundwork responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, supplemented by one (1) year of experience in heavy equipment operation.
• Valid South Carolina Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

Responsibilities

• Operates trucks on assigned routes to collect solid waste, recyclables, and yard debris.
• Inspects and maintains assigned vehicles and coordinates work of subordinate workers on the truck.
