Job summary

Rockymountnc is seeking a Sanitation Equipment Operator I to operate semi-automated side loading or rear loading trucks and perform daily inspections, cart rollout, and material packing tasks. You will ensure safe operation and accuracy of route data while maintaining cleanup and courtesy in public interactions.

The role requires a high school level education, NC CDL-B (or higher), and prior refuse collection experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to a high school degree.
• Valid North Carolina CDL-B or higher driver's license.
• Experience operating automated/semi-automated side loading or rear loading trucks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate semi-automated side loading or rear loading trucks to rollout carts, recycling carts or yard waste carts following division policies and schedules.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report mechanical defects.
• Operate the packer to pack and dump materials collected and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
