Job summary

Quanex in Owatonna, MN is seeking a Waste Chemical Technician - 2nd shift to ensure quality control of complex coating processes. You will test chemical baths, record results, and monitor equipment startup and shutdown to maintain process integrity.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to work with measurement tools, and comfort wearing a respirator. Schedule is Monday–Thursday, 3:30pm–2:00am with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be reliable, cooperative, and a self-starter.
• Attention to detail is highly important.
• Knowledgeable of measurement tools and techniques.
• Must be able to work in many positions including bending, reaching, stooping, pulling, pushing, walking and standing.
• Must be able to wear a respirator. Facial hair or jewelry cannot interfere with the fit of the respirator.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and consistently test chemical baths utilizing laboratory equipment and established testing procedures.
• Maintain accurate and up to date records of testing results and chemistry adjustments.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required by work order, check sheets or experience.
• Maintain accurate and up to date records of equipment maintenance.
• Oversee and monitor the startup and shut down of equipment.
