Job summary

Action Against Hunger (ACF-USA) recruits a WASH Technical Advisor based in New York to support the design and implementation of WASH interventions, provide technical leadership, and contribute to sector coordination within the ACF-USA network.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field and at least 4 years of international humanitarian experience, with strong English communication; French or Spanish is a plus. The position is based in NYC with travel to program sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience with an international humanitarian organization leading WASH programs.
  • Knowledge of WASH-related public health, community mobilization, and monitoring & evaluation.
  • Competence in hydraulics, pumping, hydrogeology, drilling, geophysics, or emergency WASH equipment; good computer skills.
  • Fluency in English; working knowledge of French and/or Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting country programs in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, and other countries as needed.
  • Providing technical leadership to the ACF WASH sector.
  • Representing ACF-USA at WASH sector coordination meetings and maintaining communications with key actors.
  • Participating in the selection, placement and training of WASH personnel.
