APAC Mississippi, Inc., a CRH company, is seeking a Quarry Plant Operator to run crusher and washer equipment and perform a range of labor tasks. The role requires flexibility for shifts and possible travel, with emphasis on safety and efficiency in a demanding environment.

The position supports operations that include lubrication, housekeeping, and routine maintenance while following foreman directive. One year of related experience is preferred; a high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• One year related experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; 1–2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft operating systems.
• Ability to work various shifts (days, nights, swings).

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain aggregate crusher, washer, and surrounding environment for safe operation.
• Shoveling; sweeping; steam cleaning; painting; tire work; mechanical assistance; lifting and pulling.

Quarry Plant Operator

Summary

This position involves the skilled operation of various crusher and washer equipment as well as a variety of laboring activities, including, but not limited to: lubricating; shoveling; sweeping; steam cleaning; painting; tire work; mechanical assistance; lifting, pushing and pulling various objects and raking. Work will be performed per the plant foreman's instruction; free from direct supervision except for more complicated jobs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintaining aggregate crusher, washer, and surrounding environment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Shoveling; sweeping; steam cleaning; painting; tire work; mechanical assistance; lifting, pushing and pulling various objects.
• Communicating production issues to supervisor or lead person.
• Ability to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
• Keep time and material records.
• Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications.
• Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
• Willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Report to work at the designated start time.
• Able to work overtime when required.
• Other duties as assigned per supervisor.

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
• Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
