Job summary

APAC Tennessee, Inc., a CRH company, seeks a Quarry Plant Operator to skillfully operate crusher and washer equipment and perform laboring tasks such as lubrication, shoveling, painting, and cleaning. You will follow the plant foreman's instructions and work under supervision with occasional travel.

This role requires physical stamina, ability to work various shifts, and willingness to work nights and weekends as needed in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; one year related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Basic math skills and the ability to apply measurements and units.
• Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and basic computer usage.
• Ability to work various shifts (days, nights, swings).

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently (crusher, washer).
• Maintain aggregate crusher, washer, and surroundings for safe operation.
• Perform labor tasks: shoveling, sweeping, painting, lifting, and adjusting equipment.
• Communicate production issues to supervisor or lead person.
• Travel and work away from home when required; night/weekend shifts may be necessary.

Quarry Plant Operator

Summary

This position involves the skilled operation of various crusher and washer equipment as well as a variety of laboring activities, including, but not limited to: lubricating; shoveling; sweeping; steam cleaning; painting; tire work; mechanical assistance; lifting, pushing and pulling various objects and raking. Work will be performed per the plant foreman's instruction; free from direct supervision except for more complicated jobs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintaining aggregate crusher, washer, and surrounding environment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Shoveling; sweeping; steam cleaning; painting; tire work; mechanical assistance; lifting, pushing and pulling various objects.
• Communicating production issues to supervisor or lead person.
• Ability to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
• Keep time and material records.
• Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications.
• Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
• Willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Report to work at the designated start time.
• Able to work overtime when required.
• Other duties as assigned per supervisor.

One (1) Year Related Experience Is Preferred.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft operating systems.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to work various shifts (days, nights, swings)
