Job summary

Pendleton Woolen Mills is seeking a Finish Department Operator to operate finishing machinery and process fabric in our textile facility. Load, monitor, and adjust equipment to ensure products meet quality standards while maintaining a safe work environment.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and the stamina to work on the 2nd shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM, Mon–Fri). A HS diploma or GED is required; manufacturing experience is preferred.

  • Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training and experience will be considered.

  • Inspect fabric to ensure finished products meet quality standards and specifications.

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Finish Department Operator is responsible for operating machinery and processing fabric within the Finish Department of a textile manufacturing facility. This role supports production goals by ensuring products meet quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Move pallets of fabric throughout the department.
  • Follow detailed production specifications and work instructions.
  • Load and unload fabric into and from finishing machines.
  • Operate production equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect fabric to ensure finished products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Clean machines and work areas throughout the shift.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Basic industrial sewing skills preferred.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for the duration of the scheduled shift.
  • Ability to work in wet and slippery conditions.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs as needed.
  • Ability to regularly push and pull pallet jacks and carts weighing up to 1,000 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, manipulate, and handle materials and equipment.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Work Environment

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat, moisture, and chemicals. Employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety guidelines.

2nd shift 3:00 PM-11:30 PM M-F

Wages and annual increases are provided in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Shift differential on 2nd and 3rd shifts.
