Job summary

Dauch Corporation, a premier Driveline and Metal Forming supplier in Detroit, seeks a Warranty Co-op to support warranty initiatives and gain hands-on experience with customer warranty systems and product evaluations.

You will analyze warranty data, assist with root cause analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate findings and improve product performance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree or related field at an accredited university.
• Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• 3.0 minimum GPS.
• Candidate must be able to work 25 hours a week year round.
• Must be interested in pursuing a career in the automotive industry.
• Technical / Industrial knowledge and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn about Dauch products and support warranty investigations related to field performance and customer concerns.
• Analyze customer warranty data to identify trends, track returned components, and monitor warranty metrics including claim volume, labor codes, and cost impacts.
• Assist in investigating product issues by evaluating warranty claims and identifying potential causes of field failures or customer dissatisfaction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout Dauch including Product Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Gear Lab Engineering, Quality, and other technical functions to support problem-solving activities.
• Participate in hands-on evaluation of field-returned components, including product teardowns and failure analysis.
• Document root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
• Prepare reports and presentations that communicate warranty trends, investigation results, and product performance data to manufacturing facilities and stakeholders.
• All other duties as assigned.
