Job summary

HRU Technical Resources is seeking an experienced Warranty Field Audit Specialist to conduct comprehensive audits of automotive dealerships and evaluate warranty and fixed-operations processes. You will review warranty claims, repair documentation, and KPI data to identify compliance gaps, financial exposure, and opportunities for improvement.

You will document findings, recommend corrective actions, and work directly with dealership personnel and leadership to strengthen warranty performance

Travel: Extensive travel required - typically 5 days per week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Warranty Field Audit Specialist to conduct comprehensive audits of automotive dealerships and evaluate warranty and fixed-operations processes.

In this role, you will review warranty claims, repair documentation, record-retention practices, dealership processes, and KPI data to identify compliance gaps, potential financial exposure, and opportunities for improvement. You will document findings, recommend corrective actions, and work directly with dealership personnel and leadership to strengthen warranty performance and reduce unnecessary warranty costs.

This is a highly independent, field-based position requiring strong automotive knowledge, analytical ability, professionalism, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct independent dealership warranty audits in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and established program requirements.
• Complete assigned audits accurately and within required timelines.
• Review warranty claims, repair orders, supporting documentation, retention practices, and service processes for accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze dealership KPIs and performance data to identify trends, risks, strengths, and areas for improvement.
• Utilize internal and manufacturer systems to evaluate dealership metrics and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
• Prepare detailed audit reports documenting findings, risks, supporting information, and recommended corrective actions.
• Present audit findings clearly and professionally to dealership employees, management, regional representatives, and program leadership.
• Provide dealerships with guidance on warranty compliance, documentation requirements, and operational best practices.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with dealership personnel and regional teams.
• Clearly communicate the purpose and value of the warranty audit program to dealership management.
• Deliver accurate and timely reporting to program leadership.
• Maintain compliance with all reporting and procedural requirements outlined in the program process manual.
• Independently coordinate travel, scheduling, and business expenses.
• Support additional program initiatives and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in automotive dealership service management, warranty administration, warranty auditing, or a closely related field.
• Working knowledge of dealership service and warranty operations.
• General technical understanding of automotive diagnosis and repair processes.
• Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret complex information and determine compliance with established requirements.
• Strong ability to analyze findings and produce clear, professional written reports.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate difficult or sensitive findings calmly, professionally, and diplomatically.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, travel arrangements, and expenses.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with diverse teams.
• Comfortable presenting information both virtually and in person.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment while maintaining accuracy and continuity.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to successfully complete required employment background screening.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively, typically five days per week.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Hyundai dealerships, dealer franchises, or automotive OEM service/warranty operations.
• Industry-related degree, certification, or professional qualification.
• 1-2+ years of experience using dealership management systems such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or ADP.
• Knowledge of automotive warranty-support resources, including:
• Recalls and service campaigns
• Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs)
• Repair manuals and technical information systems
• Manufacturer warranty policies and procedures
• 2+ years of dealership service management experience with a strong understanding of automotive fixed operations.
