Job summary

Apex Mills seeks a Warp Hanger for the THIRD shift to join our Graham, NC mill. You will assemble warp beam sets, mount beams on large steel shafts, apply spacers, and load warped beams onto knitting machines.

Qualifications include hoist operation, ability to transfer warp, forklift certification, and pre-employment screening. We offer $14.00 per hour, medical, dental, 401(k), and growth opportunities.

Job description

Apex-Aridyne / Apex Mills, a U.S. based textile manufacturer, creates customized warp knit fabric solutions. Our far-reaching expertise has been achieved by supplying Mesh, Netting, Tricot Knit, and Spacer fabrics to an ever-expanding array of consumer, industrial, and government-related industries for over seventy years.

We are seeking a Warp Hanger for THIRD shift to join us in our Mill in Graham.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assemble warp beam sets, including checking & changing shaft bearings
• Select and mount beams on large steel shafts
• Apply spacers and collars
• Load completed warped beam sets onto knitting machines
• Check new warp to make sure all beams are lined up and collars are bolted in place
• Make sure all end caps are tightened
• Assist with maintaining housekeeping throughout the facility

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to use hoist to pick up warp and transfer it to the knitting machine
• Ability to lower and hang warp in the knitting machine
• Ability to drive a forklift (certified)
• Pre-employment substance screening and background check required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires agility, good vision, legible and accurate record keeping, and comprehension of measurements and labels. Some mechanical skills involved including hoist operation and the use of a pry bar and wrench. Physical requirements include the use of a step ladder and up to 50 lbs. of force required in the use of hand tools. Steel-toe safety shoes and hearing protection is required. Forklift certification required (will train). Must be physically able to stand/walk on their feet 8 hours a day.
